One of the most popular and traditional Japanese cuisine. This dish is usually cooked at home and tastes different by families. I use beef but some people use pork. Meat should be thinly sliced. You can add shiitake mushrooms if you prefer. “Shirataki” is a noodle type of konjac. If you couldn’t find shirataki, use ordinary konjac and slice like strings.
Ingredients
Sliced beef 200g
Potato 800g
Carrot 200g
Shirataki 300g
Onion 150g
Sake 100㏄
Sugar 60g
Soya-bean sauce 75㏄
How to cook
1. Cut potato and carrot. Wash shirataki with hot water and cut to about 10cm. Slice onion.
2. Cook 1-2 slices of beef in a pan. Add potato and carrots. Cook until edge of potato become transparent.
3. Place onions and shirataki. Spread beef. Add sake and sugar. Cover the pan and cook for 10 minutes. Mix once in a while.
4. Add soya-bean sauce and mix. Cover the pan. Mix once in a while and cook until all the liquids.
