Shumai is a Chinese dish that minced meat wrapped by thin sheet made from wheat flour. Shumai’s thin sheets are sold at supermarkets and I have never seen them gluten free. Therefore, this dish cannot be a gluten free at the moment.
There are many types of dumplings and recipe are different by restaurants and family.
Ingredients
Minced pork 250g
Shrimps 150g (without shell)
Onion 50g
Shiitake mushrooms 3pcs
Shumai sheets 25 sheets
Sugar 5g
Salt 2.5g
Soya-bean sauce 5㏄
Sesame oil 10㏄
How to cook
1. Chop shrimps, onions and shiitake mushrooms.
2. Mix all the ingredients except shumai sheets in a bowl. Mix well.
3. Wrap shumai mixture with shumai sheets.
4. Steam with strong heat for 15 minutes.
