Stir-fried pork and cabbage looks like Chinese dish, “Hoi ko-ro.” However, it tastes different and with Japanese flavor. I would say, “inspired” by Chinese dish.
Ingredients
Pork (sliced) 500g
Cabbage 1/8pcs
Carrot 1/2pcs
Chinese mushrooms 4pcs
Green pepper 1pc
Ginger 10g
Japanese leek 10㎝
Miso 15g
Soya-bean sauce 40㏄
Sake 45㏄
Sugar 15g
How to cook
1. Pre-mix miso, soya-bean sauce, sake, and sugar. Chop ginger and Japanese leek into small pieces. Cut cabbage to about 5cm square, carrot to thin slices of 5cm x 1cm rectangles. Slice green pepper and Chinese mushrooms. Cut pork about 5cm length.
2. In a pan, add oil and stir-fry ginger and Japanese leek. Add pork.
3. When pork is half cooked, add mixture of miso, soya-bean sauce, sake, and sugar. Stir-fry quickly and take pork out from the pan.
4. Add more oil in a pan. Cook vegetables.
5. After vegetables are cooked, put pork back to the pan and cook together.
6. Cook until liquid are half gone.
