Fried Chicken – Japanese Style

Japanese style fried chicken tastes of soya-bean sauce and ginger. It is easy to cook but need to prepare in advance. Fried chicken is more tasty if a chicken thigh without leg is used but healthier if you used a breast half.

Ingredients
Chicken thigh without bones   2pcs
Ginger             20g
Soya-bean sauce       3Tbs
Sake (Japanese wine)     2Tbs
Mirin (Japanese sweet wine)   1Tbs
(If mirin was not available, add 1tbs of sugar and 2bs of sake)
Starch

How to cook
1. Cut chicken into pieces (about 7cm).
2. Remove skin of a ginger and grate.
3. In a plastic bag, put ginger, soya-bean sauce, sake, mirin, and chicken, and marinate. Leave in a fridge over night.
4. Cover chicken with starch.
5. Fry with 180oC of oil.

Cut chicken into pieces. Grate ginger. Put ginger, soya-bean sauce, sake, and mirin. Mix well.
Marinate chicken and leave in a fridge over night.
Cover with starch and fry at 180oC of oil.
